Cappy

by K Email

A couple years ago I introduced a new word to my wife and then slowly to my friends but it has been a little slow to catch on with the general public. I thought I would share it here so that others can benefit by expanding their vocabulary with a very made-up but very useful word.

The word was born when I received one too many emails in all caps. For most of us who use email and electronic media we know that there is a difference between “What are you doing?” and “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?“. The all caps sentence is full of emotion and is possibly someone screaming or negatively yelling at you.

So a word was born: Cappy or as I like to say it CAPPY.

CAPPY (Cap-py)
-adjective
1. yelling or showing strong emotion by using all caps in an email or electronic communication; can be accompanied by color to clarify emotion being expressed & italics or bold type to add additional emphasis.
Examples: Leo’s email was so cappy; I didn’t appreciate Leo’s cappy email; Why are you being so cappy?

Enjoy the word and try not to be CAPPY!
-especially when emailing me :)

Bloomers

Here is what’s blooming at our house. I’m definitely ready for spring.

I am the Phantom. My real name is Jerry.

Combining two more of my favorite things–Will Ferrell as the Phantom of the Opera.

Just blew in

Back from a week in Kansas. Had a great time visiting family and survived a few insanely cold and windy days there. We went to a Wichita Thunder hockey game, where a fight broke out within the first four seconds of the game. Good family entertainment, definitely. I was kind of sickly intrigued by the blood on the ice after the fight and that they had to scrape and pick at the ice to remove the blood, obviously because it was frozen by the time they cleaned it up. (I’m sure everyone already knew that but me. I thought they’d just mop it up.)

We also stopped by Hesston College to pay them some money for alumni paraphernalia at the bookstore. I am now two Hesston tshirts happier (and poorer) than I was before.

In my spare time, I immersed myself in a luxury I do not have at home…the Discovery channel. I cannot deny it–I love to watch Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs. Fortunately for me, these shows are rerun quite often.

Who would guess it was 20-some degrees outside?

They take the fast out of fast food!

If one chooses to eat fast food I think Taco Bell is usually one of the better fast food options. But this doesn’t always hold true.
I spent more than an hour in a Taco Bell this past week because they were so slow in getting peoples’ orders out. The many people waiting around the counter should have been a warning but I went ahead and ordered. Then I realized that people were sitting at tables (many people) without food because they were also waiting for their orders. Overall I ended up waiting more than 30 minutes for my food.
